Hello there i had to come here straight away!!

I know a few people who work at BT, so i thought i would set my dads phone line for him when i was off work and went straight to the COT team because Sales team incompetantly did the wrong order in retaining the phoneline and kept trying to change the number.

Cot done it without a hitch and then also saved my dad £6 a month
there is a deal i know of which gives you UEWP (Evening and Weekend calls Free) they credit your bill 3 pounds but just making a query to them they also dropped my Line Rental to £10.90 from £13.90.

How happy was i when i got the order confirmation?
and mainly they have retained his phone number!

So £6.00 Savings and Keeping the phone number

So to sum up i am paying £10.90 for Line rental and Evening Calls and Weekend. Quality

Do this if you are at BT or want to save cash

Beware, it's an (annual) auto-renewing calls plan.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Yeah they said but you can stop them renewing apparently because they write to you a month before the date

Put an entry in your (his) diary. Apparently, the letters frequently and mysteriously don't arrive.

You say correspondence from BT that mysteriously doesn't arrive? Who'd have thought it?
