Floor Tiles

Options
Anyone got suggestions on the type of adhesive required for laying floor tiles on top of existing tiles. I have notices most adhesives state not for use laying onto ceramic tiles.
The only one I have found cost £34 for the bag in B&Q

cheers,

  • I'm not 100 % certain but I think you need a bag of flexible adhesive, your best bet would be to ask around at local tile sellers where you should be able to buy a 20 kg bag of flex adhesive at around £10 cheaper than the B&Q price.

    cheers,
As a sweeping generalisation I would not do this plus how high will the step be between this floor and the rest of the house?

tile ontop of tile can often be good but like bob i would be reluctant to do this on a floor as there are too many variables involved.

    Thanks Guys,

The problem is the new pedestal is already in place on top of the old tiles, also the old tiles are screeded into a concrete floor, not the easiest of tasks hammering them up.
I understand what you are saying, I may have to bite the bullet and just hire a small kango hammer to remove them. I think it probably would give a better finish.
