At the payment screen, just under the details of your order, it says "Promo code or NUS Extra student number". Click the arrow next to it and box will appear for you to paste and save the code into

Is this after card details have been entered as can't see it before that?

Haven't ordered from there for at least a year, can you tell :rotfl:

I order at least once a month, so I know the place inside out! (Not very MSE of me, but oh well...)

Before you put in card payment details - card details are at the bottom of the page, this bit is near the top. Have made a screencap for you: http://i46.tinypic.com/2n8a9nt.jpg

I've got GHDs in my basket.. when i go to basket only option is to check out and then enter payment details - doesn't show the same screen as you

That's weird - process should be add to basket, click checkout, login/register, and then get that screen. It's never looked any different for me and I've been with them for yonks, and bought GHDs too!

If that's not happening (maybe try a different browser?) I'd advise you to email ASOS, or for a quicker response comment on their Facebook page, or tweet @ASOS_HeretoHelp - the Twitter people are especially fab.
