Rat faeces on bread from Asda! Eww..!

Brought a pack of reduced rolls the other day and froze them. Decided at last minute wanted to make some quick and easy for tea.
Defrosted the rolls and began to eat them. I had eaten mine and my b/f was finishing off his when he noticed at the end of the roll what look suspiciously like a rat dropping.
The size of it makes me believe it is def not a mouse dropping! Looked at packet and inside (we didnt notice beforehand-damn!) that there's also traces or should I say smudges of stuff-niice!
Going there today- I am so angry. These rolls I think are baked on site.
If it was a random hair -I would be disgusted but RAT POO?!
Also, the fact that we have ingested contaminated bread. Hopefully we won't become ill from it!
I am concerned if I take it to them and they take it away to be 'tested' it may conveniently get 'lost' (heard some stories!)
Considering environmental health? Is that too far? If they offer us a measly £10 voucher I won't be impressed.
It's not about compensation anyhow- at mo I am still getting over the thought of possibly eating rat poo!

I do not think environmental health would be going too far for that!!! As you say, someone could have become ill, not a nice thought. It turns even my stomach, and that is saying something. I would not trust this one to the store, environmental health or trading standards would be my first stop. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

Got to agree with Jane, environmental health are the people to contact. They will go in and inspect the place and make sure anything that needs doing, to stop it happening again, will get done.0

Go to enviromental health not Asda, they need to see this0

I must confess to not being an expert on "rat poo" - good job you are !
If the shop gets fined £10000 and I were to get nothing - I wouldn't be impressed either - but of course I wouldn't have done this for any other motive than looking after the welfare of my fellow citizens - would I ?:huh:0 -
Thats awful !!!!, as I said in another thread we found a large piece of bone in an Asda burger and we are still waiting for a response ! (they put it in the wrong queue ???) it took me to phone the other day to chase them (again) since just after Christmas, so things "do get lost in the system".....I would agree that enviromental health seems to be the way forward....good luck0

MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.0 -
Hello and welcome. This is a serious health issue and should be reported to the proper authorities immediately. It is also important to retain your receipt, the bread, any wrappings/packing, the droppings and other evidence you feel is related. DO NOT contact Asda. If you or your b/f fall sick from it, you should contact your gp or go to hospital.
You will need to contact the Environmental Health Officers in your area. Their contact details should be provided on your local council website, or you can use http://www.food.gov.uk/enforcement/enforceessential/yourarea/

Just for future reference, which adsas bread should I avoid at all costs?0

Hope it doesn't turn out to be grease... you can get pieces that look like droppings.. or bits of carbonisation from the baking trays..
Obviously if it is rat droppings then it needs dealing with by EH at your local council.Christmas 2020 £109
