After doing a benefit check up on this site. It said I was entitled to a council tax rebate. I applied to my council and they told me no. I told them I had done a benefit check on Martins money saving tips and on my income I was. They then checked my form again and said oh sorry, we made a mistake yes you are. My council tax rebate was £30.00 a month. This was a big saving to me, but the best was yet to come. My husband is disabled and has been for 10yrs, we have needed the house adapted for years but could never afford it. As we qualified for a council tax rebate. we were able to get a disabled grant with Nil contribution from us. As I work part time we were told we were in a loop hole, there was no help available unless I was unemployed. I would like to say a big Thank you, because of the information on this site, The grant has been approved the builders are in, and at last my husband will be having the facility's that we all take for granted. :j

For anyone wishing to claim a Disabled Facilities grant:

For anyone who has certain home adaptations, you can also apply for a 'banding down' of the council tax level:

LinYou can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.0
