Hi
Have been looking at Haven Holidays for July and they all seem quite expensive at the moment.
Just wondering if anyone knows if they go down in price nearer the time, is it worth waiting until about 2 weeks before?
Thanks

Hi
To be honest with you they are cheaper the sooner in you with them in my experience, however, they do have a selection of "last minute" deals, but only if they have spaces free nearer to the date, or there has been a cancelation.
July is peak time, so even if you leave it till a couple of weeks before, you are probably gonna find them to be expensive (that is just in my experience). I love Haven holidays, and the best way to book them is through the "Sun" newspaper holidays where you collect the tokens, especially if your looking to go at peak times.
Sorry if thats not much help.... And good luck with getting booked up!

Thanks for your reply, we dont normally go on them but have just recently been to Craig Tara. I noticed looking at the brochure there is a big price difference booking early, same holiday we looking at this year on same dates next year is £200 cheaper, but didnt know this before :-(
Have been given an offer from our union at work where can get 10% off for booking before end of June so will hnopefully get to use that anyway :-)0 -
Have you also tried Park Resort holidays?? Last year i booked a holiday with them for the 1st week in the easter holidays this year. I upgraded to a gold caravan, for 6 people, with early checkin and all our passes for just £78!!! When i checked the prices in Jan this year it was nearly £400!!! Yikes!!! Plus with park resort you only have to pay a £50 deposite which i think is really good. Just thought i'd give it a mention to you :-)

Try looking on https://www.directholidayhomes.co.uk this is a site for private owners of caravans at lots of different sites which should work out cheaper than booking direct with the site, check whether the price includes passes or not.
We have a caravan in Dorset but are fully booked for July if the provisional booking for the last date goes through.0 -
We booked with Haven last August and got 2 weeks for £950. If we had left it and booked in January it would have cost us £1450 same as today. I have not been to park dean but the prices look good.0

I rent Haven vans regularly and noticed the following pattern in their prices.
The prices are low when you book more than 12 months ahead.
They are at their lowest if you book two weeks before christmas.
They rise steadily after christmas as bookings fill their caravans.
You can get lucky and get a last minute cancellation, but you must play the waiting game.
Get on Havens mailing list, I have had some cracking good deals at short notice from a Haven mailshot letter. Confirm all the littel details over the phone before you commit. e.g. the price includes passes, linen and grade of caravan and ask for it all in writing. (which they do as a PDF via email).
Booking direct with an owner is slightly cheaper, but remember many addons are not included, e.g. passes and linen so do your sums beforehand.
Avoid promotions in tabloids unless you are very clued up on the smallprint. You pay a low price for the caravan, then you get an unexpecdted bill from the park itself, this is for the funworks passes, electricity & gas, linen and anything else they can stick on you. Plus, if you dont pay within 10 weeks of the holiday, Haven will cancel it and you lose your holiday and all the money you originally paid.0 -
so if we upgrade the caravan on the arrival, will they normally give us a discounted upgrade price? and by how much normally?0

Hi
The upgrade on the day price is £20.00 we have done this on last 2 occassions of visiting Haven and the only advise i can give on this is to arrive & book in early although you wont be able to go into your van early - there is a better chance of an upgrade being available
