Click: Start > Run
Type: msconfig.exe
Click on the Startup Tab
This will list the programs which starts and runs when you switch on your PC.
Go through the list and untick the obvious programs that you dont need running automatically e.g real.exe for Real Player.
If it doesnt look obvious, leave it.
You can expand the Command column to find out more details.
Once finished click OK and reboot.0 -

I t is certainly fast than in had been in years. I am just wondering whether there is anything to be gained by downloading http://safety.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm or
www.ccleaner.com I have had a look at both sites and I am wondering whether or not I could really optimise my system by using more than one cleaner in case one could pick up something the other may have missed.-Keep your eyes to the sunshine and you would not see the shadows-

Just a thought,
I encountered a similar scenario a few years back and it was suggested that I run the disk check (Error Checking Tool) found in the properties/tools of the harddrive in "my computer"
It scanned the drive and found bad sectors etc, fixed/moved them and Bob's your mothers brother, it was fine after that.:D

safety live and cccleaner do different things, no harm in running them all.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0
