Does eBay lose messages at all?

Options
Hi,

I've recently won three items from a seller (29th) and sent a message to ask if it was possible to combine postage on them at all. I haven't gotten a response yet (probably early days but it's the first time I haven't had fast feedback regarding payment from a seller) so I was just wondering if it was possible that the message (sent via the "Pay now" tab, requesting an invoice for combined postage if that were possible) could have gone astray, and what sort of time would be reasonable to send another message asking, just incase it has.

Don't want to seem impatient to the seller, but it feels really weird not to pay within a day or so of auction end, especially as eBay is sending me payment reminder messages now for the items. :o

Thanks! :)

I would expect a seller to get back pretty quick, I'd probably send another message tomorrow, after 4 days the seller can open a NPB against you.

I always ask beforehand if combined postage is possible if it is not explicit in the listing. If it is not then seller is under no obligation to reduce/combine postage though any decent seller would do the best they can.

Will send another message tomorrow then, thanks. Hadn't expected either way, just figured I would ask given that I had managed to win three of their items. :)

Sometimes if I'm bidding on a sellers items with listings ending over a few days I will message them after winning one if I can hold off payment so as to benefit from reduced/combined postage. As long as communication is good evrything should be pukka.

Yes I think messages go missing. I had someone email me today saying she had sent me a message to say that she was having problems checking out. I never got her message. I had also sent her an invoice which she says did not arrive...

Several times in the past I have had messages along the lines of 'when did you post my item it has not arrived yet' - I always send a message as soon as I have posted to let buyer know so it seems that these do not always get through either!
