I have the update window icon in the tray.."updates are ready for you cmpter"..for IP 7..is there anyway i can remove this from the tray without installing..IP 7..thanks.

Unfortunately, it's going to be a 'mandatory' update in the near future. If was me, I'd do the update and use Firefox for most of my surfing. As for the install icon, click on it and select custom and deselect the update. It will only appear again I fear. You could also disable auto update and visit the update site regularly and update the things you want to.

It already is a "mandatory" update, but you can cancel it and tick the box to say "dont tell me about this update in the future".
But to be honest, IE7 works OK for me. It looks a little different, but it oly takes a couple of days to get used to, and there are a few settings you can change to make it look and feel mostly like IE6.
It has a big advantage that printing frames works much better.0
