Tesco Value Dishwasher Tablets

Hi all,

Just wanted to share with you my experience of the tesco value dishwasher tablets following a read through something Martin had written about trying to down-brand to save money.

Thought we'd give them a go as they are only £1.79 for 30 compared to the £4 plus for a branded name.

Well, I can't tell the difference, if anything, the cleaning has been better than with our usual brand.

So, don't be afraid to give them a try is the moral of the story! :money:

I use the value ones as well and to be honest they do a better job than any of the other branded ones! :D
  • I seem to remember them coming top in a 'Which' test of dishwashing tablets a few years ago. They beat all the big brand names and I have been using them happily ever since. I think it's a rare example of the Tesco value brand being better than the expensive branded alternatives. They do the job well for a fraction of the cost. I also use the Value brand for my cling film, as it is pvc free and therefore healthier than some of the more expensive versions.

I've used them for years and was perfectly satisfied - until I got a 'free' quantumatic using the £5 voucher. I think the Quantumatic gives a better finish - but I'll be back with MrT's value tablets once I've used up my bargains!

The tesco value ones are on at 25p for 30 at the moment - have fifteen boxes in the cupboard - thank goodness they are good!

Thanks for mentioning that...I went and looked and sure enough, 25p. Bought the six boxes they had on the shelf and will get more if possible. I have tried them before and they work just fine. I hadn't been keeping up with current diswasher tablet prices as I've been working my way through a pile of 90% off Finish ones I bought at the Co-op reduced section last year but I'm down to my last box now. So a chance to stockpile cheaply for another year is most welcome!

Will be trying for these tomorrow at another Tescos - my local doesn't stock much of the value range alas! *crosses fingers* Hope they aren't discontinuing them or anything!

We've been using them for years too, and even cut them in half and they're still great!

We leave in a soft water area.

Do you still need salt and rinse aid with these Mr T tablets?

We currently use the AL 7in1 without any additional stuff - no problems. I haven't tried their standard ones though.

I have used the Tesco Value tablets , the sainburys basics and the asda ones are good too , the waitrose own brand are not so good though.
I dont see the point in paying more for the branded products when the supermarket value ranges do just as good a job.
