Books always from library, wouldn't dream of buying a brand new book now. However need to point out I am a proper book worm and read 3/4 books a week so even the car boot would work out too expensive plus the hassle of reselling them as don't want hundreds of books in the house and the library is on a route I take every week so no additional trip there :j
LOVE MY LOCAL LIBRARY :jThere is no issue so small that it can't be blown out of proportion0 -
Brocolli.......it's one of my favourite veggies along with leeks and parsnips and aubergines....used to eat these ab lib now it's either/or not all

Bananas! they are very expensive at the moment in Australia. They are the equivalent of 8 pounds 50p /kg compared to 79p/kg in Tesco in UK.
They have always been a constant in our fruit bowl but are now too expensive to consider buying!
I do miss a humble banana!0 -

I bought some Broccoli today, only because it was on offer in Lidls at 70p a head.
I got my shopping today,I found myself buying sachets of sauce mix for chili, bolognaise ect.Heck I picked up an Old El Passo one at 55p,say a Colemans further down the aisle for 50p so put the El Passo one back.
I'm having a Chinese meal for tea, reduced meal for two from Asda as opposed to the take out.I'll also bulk it up by adding mushrooms & peppers to it.
Although I did by a litre of Grant's whisky...I'm sorry,it was on offer at only 5p more than the basics!!:rotfl:
(That's my treat cuz I'm 44 on Monday!!...would love to know where the last 20 years have bloody gone to!!:()0 -

Happy birthday from me too. Look for my lost yoof too while you're at it. I am working with a girl that was in my son's class at school.
Still one consolation is the school kids I work with don't believe me when I say I am too old to play dodge ball with them.:D I'm one of the oldest ones there and the only one mad enough to chase round the playground with a load of 6 year olds. :rotfl:0 -
Thanks for the birthday wishes everybody! 8-)
Most of my mates on Faceache are blokes I served with in the RAF over 20 years ago! The is a thread on our trade page about our best memory of RAF Bruggen in Germany, some great memories & we've organised a re-union !!!! up in Blackpool for September!! (god help Blackpool!)0 -
Brocolli.......
Most of my veg is frozen. Iceland do a kilo of peas/green beas/brocolli/baby carrots/cauliflower all for a £1 each.
So I tend to get my veg there unless I can find cheaper else where. Means less waste and hassle for me.
And I am sure I read that by the time the fresh veg reaches supermarkets it is already 9 days old  futher info here
