Thinking of switching banks

Hi, i have been with HSBC since 2005 my first and only bank account.
I'm thinking about switching to another bank as HSBC will give me nothing (Credit Card, Loan and overdraft)
How easy is it to change? what about my Direct Debits? are there any complications?
The main thing im worried about are my direct debits i don't want to mess these up and wreck my credit history.
Will changing bank accounts cause problems to my credit history?
Who do i go with?
Thanks

My advice (if you choose to take it)
Go with TSB put all your money in the TSB one and do the direct debits again on the TSB account BUT keep the HSBC one for spending money or isa's etc.
TSB online banking are good and I've been with them for a VERY long time.
don't choose santander even if they offer you an overdraft.• HSBC (Main A/C)
• Halifax Back up A/C
• Lloyds (Spending) A/C
• RBS Back up A/C
• Barclays Old A/C
• Nationwide Old A/C0 -

Its not that difficult to change current accounts as long as you keep an eye out to ensure any direct debits etc are transferred properly.
As Lith says you might want to keep our HSBC account and open a 2nd one elsewhere - in which case it might be easier to keep your HSBC one as your 'bills account' as its already set up.
However, of more interest might be why HSBC won't give you any credit facilities.
Do you have a normal current account with them and are you on the electoral roll?
HSBC more than other banks have a tendency to use 'acount conduct' when deciding if they can offer you additional products.
As such, if you can't get something with HSBC even though you have had an account there for so long, you might not be able to get it elsewhere.
You mightwant to read/search for the various threads on how to increase your HSBC Behaviour Score (like this one) which is what they use to decide what products you are eligible for.
