E Cheque Failed

Hi Guys
Sorry if this is a repetitive or common question. I did a search but couldn't find a conclusive answer.
I sold an item and haven't heard from the buyer. They marked the item as 'paid' at their end and then today I've had an email saying their e-cheque bounced and I should contact them to discuss!
Has this happened to anyone before and should I be worried or is it perfectly normal? Shall I just contact the buyer and ask them to pay in a different way/ sort out the problem as the email suggests?
