Can i transfer my partners credit card balance?

Ive never had a credit card.

If i pass the application checks, would it be possible for me to get a virgin credit card and then transfer my partners outstanding balance from her virgin credit card to my new card. Thus getting 0% for xyz months.

We both live at the same address but we are not married so different surnames. And we both have separate bank accounts.

Thanks for any help

Hi there, I'm not sure for Virgin but I tried it with a HSBC one and it worked fine..and we technically live at different addresses. The form included asking for my full name and the card was in my OHs name so hopefully it will be the same for you.. Just realised you didn't say which CC you were thinking of getting so I'd rec HSBC like I said before as it worked for us 0% interest 15 months thank you HSBC!! he he! Good luck!!
    A lot of fellows nowadays have a B.A., M.D., or Ph.D. Unfortunately, they don't have a J.O.B."

You cannot pay off a Virgin card with a Virgin card (or anyother MBNA card), unless you do a super balance transfer (this is funds to your current account) at the higher fee of 4%.
You could apply for a different brand of card and pay off your partners card though, not forgeting that the debt is then yours!!

Well 10 mins later and im over the moon. Although my partner isnt employed, she does have a little bit of money going into her account each month.. so after reading the terms and conditions of the NATWEST card i liked, we (my partner and i) applied for the card in her name.

Haypresto! It was accepted in a flash.

The card T&C said "should have income of 10k" she doesnt. But i pointed out it said "should have" not MUST have. We didnt make any false statements in the application so nothing to lose.

Best of all, its still her debt! And i still dont have a credit card!
