Virgin money card

I currently have £4500 stoozed from santander cc in a halifax isa. Six months interest free is up in August so I'm looking around for somewhere to transfer the debt to or pay it off come August.

Is this the best deal at the moment?

If I'm reading it correctly 16 months 0% and a 1.5% balance transfer fee?

I closed a virgin cc account a year ago so should be a new customer.

It's a close call between that offer and the M&S Sterling TC loophole.

    Virgin vs M&S
    1.5% vs 1% fee
    16 vs 15 months 0%
    1% vs 2.5% minimum payments

Run your figures through the stoozing site calculator. Alternatively, apply for both! ;)

Wow a whole £2.74 difference based on my figures. I'll wait a month and if nothing better comes along apply for the virgin card. Thanks YB.

These MBNA moneysupermarket exclusive offers tend not to last long. As soon as the 'budget' is used up they're pulled. I'd apply now if I was you.

Can I utilise the considerable difference between the credit limit I've been given and the balance transfer from my existing cc? From what I see balance transfers in first 60 days get 16 months at 0% but new spend only gets 3 months, so no slow stooze. I've set up the first balance transfer at time of application. I've never understood the egg money scheme or if it's still working.

Hello, I posted this in the best BT thread too but since this is about Virgin card am reposting it here-

Has this happened to anyone else? I applied for the Virgin card from the link provided here and all went fine and i even got a page saying my application was successful for £11900 (had requested 16K and so was disappointed) and then it disappeared and a page appeared with Sorry - the credit card application you requested is temporarily unavailable.

I am shocked! I need to apply for another card soon and am worried that this virgin application that seems to have become unavailable after showing me a congrats page with a credit limit will mean a check on my credit file and that when i apply for another card in a day or two my credit limit is going to go down. Any thoughts.... help!

Thanks noh, yes i finally got thru and yes the application is successful! They do not know why I got the sorry page...

Now, I need 4K more - will i get it from another card so soon after this? Or is there a possibility that because I got it literally in a few seconds they have not done a check and so I can apply for another card before I get this card - like now now???

If I was you I would apply now.
The credit check from MBNA will be on your credit report but the details of your credit limit will not be.
You are more likely to get another card now than if you applied after your Virgin credit limit has been reported to the agencies.

You can get some really good deals on Virgin just explain what you watch to the customer service representative and they will allocate you with the best package that suits you. Hope this helps

Virgin said their limit was 12K - don't know if that is for me or for this scheme (1.5% fee) or what. But I immediately applied to Llyods TSB that has a 0% 14 month 3% fee reduced to 1.5% if you BT more than 1500. I have asked for 5k but I read in another thread that this is a lure and that Llyods will give only 1.5K and since you can transfer only 95% you end up paying 3% fee!!! I will be in real trouble if Llyods do not give me atleast 4K... i have to wait and see...
