We have just bought a car from auction
I have managed to insure the vehicle immediatly and it has a MOT on it already. How do we go bout getting the road tax up and running.
Can I print off online and use that will that be valid enough.

Technically you'll be taxed if you do it online but there is a seperate offence of not displaying which you will be guilty of.
I believe you can take the docs down to the DVLA local office and get it taxed there, they'll give you a disc straightaway. Have a look at their website for some more info on it though.

You need to take the new keeper supplement (from the V5), MOT and insurance certificate/cover note to your local post office or DVLA office.0

you are only covered by taxing it online if the vehicle has a tax disc that has only just expired and then only 5 days at the beginning of the month is given.
the post office option is the most efficient way and will save you any probs with over eager plod.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0 -
I do not think that you can tax on line if you have just bought the car as the DVLA will send the disc to the old address0
