tuning playstation one into tv?

o.k. really dumb question time, how do I tune my daughter's playstaion into my tv? I have tried but just can't figure it out, I thought that it would just be a matter of finding a spare channel, like setting up a video or dvd, am I missing something? I bought a load of old games and dug out the old playstation but now I'm stuck. help please!

Not a dumb question at all. You most likely have the PS connected to the scart on your telly, or using 3 coloured A/V cables. In this case instead of using the channel numbers you have to switch to AV mode on the telly. This is because you aren't tuning it as such, it is a direct video feed.
A nice pictorial setup is at http://uk.playstation.com/pdcf/index.jhtml?locale=en_GB

I still can't get it ! my p/s cable goes direct into the arial socket on the tv, on a double connector box so is connected to either my dvd or video, I have tried setting it to av2.5, av1 is for my cable tv, av2 is for my dvd and av2.5 is also tuned to my dvd and I can't seem to "un-set" it. it's so frustrating. I have just had a thought , am I missing a cable? there is one for the power supply, and the one going into the ariel, should there be another?

aaaaargh!!!! I have managed to tune in the p/s (finally yay!) but in the process have lost ALL my tv channels, luckily I can still use my cable remote, but omg! why is nothing ever simple?
