Hi, i'm after some advice for my Sister.
She has 2 jobs, one for 30 hours a week that she takes home £840 a month and the other, is 7 hours a week and she takes home just over £150 a month
Her and a friend have just moved into a 2 bed rented flat at £750 a month which they split 50/50
Based on her income, would she be entitled to any help from tax credits or housing/council tax benefit?
I've tried to work it all out using the online calculators but with no luck.
Any help would be great
Thanks

For tax credits she should use the HMRC calulator to see if she is eligible for anything
http://taxcredits.hmrc.gov.uk/Qualify/DIQHousehold.aspx
As its a joint tenancy, she would only be able to claim for HB and CTB for ther share. Any tax credits would be classed as income. She should ring her council and ask if she would be eligible but I doubt it.0 -
As a joint tenant, would only be entitled to the shared room rate of local housing allowanceI currently manage a Housing Benefit service and have been working in Housing / council tax benefit (as was) since 2001.
