What's the story with your housing benefit and council tax benefit? How much do you receive in benefit and how much is your rent, as your council tax looks like it's net of benefit, but your rent looks like it's the full amount.

Hi again,

We do not physically receive any Council Tax Benefit. Instead, it is applied directly to our Council Tax Bill, so our monthly payment owing after benefit is £16

Our Housing Benefit however, is paid every other week, at the amount of 321.62, directly to us, and then we pay the rent, which is £675.

I know from back when I started the claim that this is different than a lot of other LAs do it - but it is how ours does, for some reason.

So, that's why it's listed that way :-)

ETA: This calculator thing is different in how you add values, etc than the Common Financial Statement Spreadsheet I've used originally. I have that here too - and it separates benefits out which makes it easier to see what's what.

Honestly, I just cannot WAIT till my husband finishes college and we can be rid of the Housing and Council Tax benefit thing altogether.
