EEK - 28 parcels to post and one small P.O.

Ouch - I am going to be very unpopular with the village if I try to send all my parcels at once, it's been a bumper weekend which I can't complain about but now I have so much to post!
Is it worth phoning the P.O. and asking whether I can drop the parcels off? will they do the proof of posting if I do that? It's a small village post office with one counter...
Otherwise I will have to do it in 3 lots!

If I have a lot to post, I write a list of how I want everything sent and leave at the post office with enough cash to cover it.

Might be worth asking if they are happy with this. It means that they can suspend your postage and serve other customers.

If I have alot to post I don't use my local post office! The one a few villages over is so much better, very friendly and don't make me feel like I'm 'in the way'! I usually label each parcel with its weight and group them in the posting catagories (i.e. under 100g, 100-250g etc)

Some post offices will accept you leaving the parcels for them to sort out but others will look at you like you're crazy to even suggest it!

Its a good idea to ring the post office and ask when their quietest time is so youcan go then.

My post office is happy for me to leave parcels with money & I collect the COP & change the next day. It depends on the post office though I think. I would have thought that if they don't like that idea as long as you don't mind hanging around and letting other customers get served when they come in then you can get it done in one stuttering go.

I will give them a ring and find out. I am sure that I have seen others coming in with bags of parcels and they know me well.
Slight problem with hanging around: 4 kids on holiday, if they come in I end up spending my profits on sweets and magazines!

why don't you weigh the items at home, pay for the postage online, print out your own "postage paid" delivery labels and then take to the post office, you can also print out a "certificate of posting" for each item, that means you just hand it over and the cashier stamps it accepting it....they dont have to waste more time filling out a certificate for you

you can also check to see if theres a "fast drop" post office near you, either way, this is usually quicker and cuts out the work the Post Office staff have to do by 90%

For large items I have sold on Ebay, I usually complete the process online with Parcel Force, then arrange for the driver to collect, going through Topcashback as well gets me £3 cashback per delivery, plus Parcel Force now keep emailing me with 10% & 15% discount codes.

My little post office love me when i come in with my binbags full of parcels. I write a list of what postage i want and then leave money in a moneybag. Come back next day for my change.
They have always said its people like me who keep them in jobs!

Thanks everyone for your replies, in the end it was very simple:
I dropped the parcels off this morning with instructions, and need to go in and pay at 5 p.m. - cash.
The staff said that they do this with all their regular ebayers...
I normally have no more than 5 parcels a day to post but maybe it's time to expand :-)

iv just been to my post office they let me drop them off with money an go back later and pick up change and proof of postage

Ebay sellers are a large source of revenue for small town and rural post offices so you tend to find they'll be more willing to help than those in cities.

I use a big post office. Very convenient to drop off mail. My local takes a blank signed cheque. I have a cheque authority card and they fill in the blanks. I can post a link for th card if necess.

To the person who suggested use rm website, what's the point in spending 15-30 minutes on printing and then taking it down to post. I gain absolutely nothing and I have better things to do with my time! I considered a rm contract but I save a few pence per parcel which in my opinion is not worth the time spent.
