Hi all .....
We have our own place in alicante and fly out with Ryanair, I'd love to fly with one of the others but I can't seem to get any cheaper than Ryanair ... But I'm sick of paying all the extra fees, I'm thinking it's about time I sorted out avoiding them !!
It's the pre paid credit card bit that especially interests me !
Anyone in the know out there ?? Pretty please :-) x

prepay cards are pretty free and easy to get hold of, does your mobile provider offer 1? i know o2 & orange do one.
as for the "extra charges"
i assume with owning a pad out there you seldom have to use hold bags?
if after all the other add-ons ryanair inflict on you and they still come out the cheapest then i wouldn't care less if they called it "o'leary's xmas pocket money tax"
of course if you dont mind paying a bit more for service etc then look elsewhere0 -
Like you i was annoyed with paying the extra £6 per person per flight; therefore I applied for a fairfx prepaid mastercard. You initially have to load £50 on the card. But if you apply through quidco you get £5 cashback.
The card is free to load and it only takes a couple of minutes for the funds to clear, however you do have to pay a fee for a transaction. However this is much less then the fees you pay with Ryanair.0 -

There is a minumum load of £50 every time you put money on the fairfx card. So its not very economical to buy a £20 flight.0 -
I use Escape prepaid Mastercard from Phones4U - if you top it up in the shop it is free. Plus is is free to use unlike the FairFX card which charges you for each transaction. There is a £10 charge for the card though.0

I got a CaxtonFX, all free. I didn't pay for the card, and there's no fee for charging (using my debit card) or using it.
The minimum charge is 150€, but I don't really mind as I buy flights every 2 months, and if I need the money I can always go to a cash machine and get it...0 -

Domestic (UK) Point Of Sale Transaction
£1.50 per transaction (Global Traveller Card)
Domestic (UK) ATM Transaction
£1.50 per transaction (Global Traveller Card)
150€?? Are you advocating the using of a Euro card to pay for Ryanair flights?
Just a little thought makes all the difference....0 -
We regularly fly with Ryanair and when booking flights I search on Ryanair, find out the price, then I look on Travel Republic and do a search and it always works out cheaper! You know when you come to book your flights on Ryanair, and they always add on a fee because of whatever card you are booking with? Well, if you search for your flights on Travel Republic, exactly the same flights, you will find them, but a booking fee is never added on. Give it a try and see how much you can save.0
