Darlyd, Im confused. You posted this I see, last week

"It's been on the cards for so long about me leaving our marital home, taking the 2 kids with me. But I been putting it off, as personal things have gotten in the way plus money. :(. (Him leaving is not an option)

yet you talk of MIL moving in, OH working alongside in a carehome you get MIL to buy etc etc ??????????? All very odd to me.

ps Having now read more of your earlier posts, I agree with Moneymaker, Im worried for you. You seem to be having a difficult time .Maybe talking to professionals face to face might be of more help to you than advice from here. Take care.

I think a kind moderator should erase this thread to save OP from any further embarrassment.

I doubt OP will be back for a while, though.

.....Well it's her money and she can do what she likes with it........the tax thing is just a "red herring"..it does not seem that she thinks she has a problem....maybe she should get herself a toy boy and take a few cruises...

Just somebody can't make her own money, but hoping to get a big wind fall and not paying any tax to the government.

    What a wasted space...

Your MIL's money, your MIL can take good care of herself. You can save your worry. She could be better without your advice for your benefit TBH.

Don't put pressure on your MIL, she is bad enough losing her half. Let her in peace...ok?

Bit harsh like many other comments on here.

I came here asking for advice on behalf of MIL. She read comments up till 6pm lastnight (i scrolled past quickly so she never seen the negative comments, she would of wanted to put her 2 pence in) and is made up with the information she now has, the financial adviser in the bank never told her half.

Thank you to all the informative replies.

    Case now closed. End off.

I presume the mother in law didn't read your other posts about how you're going to be splitting up from your husband?

Doubt if she'll be so keen to hand over her money to you or to buy you a business if she did!

It might be only polite to explain to those who took the time to give you advice to explain the situation.
