hey guys i need advice of what to do next but 1st ill give you a bit of backround. i owned a business which closed in july 07. i recieved a lot of bad advice during this time and for this reason ended up with 2 companys issuing CCjs against me (i was a sole trader) around this time. i did the typical when it gets too much and stuck my head in the sand!:o. I met my now fiancee and after her helping me i contacted the citizens advice bureau and they started helping me. they in turn contacted grant thorten who rang me to advise me but i really wanted to try and offer a one off payment to clear my debt but they were not happy to try that route (less money for them i guess!) i was put in touch with a iva/bankruptcy practioner (SP) who started to get things sorted and stopped the phone calls i was getting by this time. the thing in the end that held up the iva going though was the bank! it was finally all sorted and accepted and discharged this march (due to it being a one off payment). since then i have forgotten it but now want to rebuild my credit rating (i never had bad credit etc before all this) the thing that worries me the most
1. is the ccjs and what to do about them.
2. i read on the site about getting a credit card and use that to build up credit by using it a little and then paying it off(important!!). i also have a mobile contact bill, car payments and someother direct debits i pay every month without fail.
3. even tho the iva is completed how long till it comes off my credit rating (do i need to do anything about this coming off?)
4. how long will the ccjs stay on my report/ do i have to keep declaring them
so what do i need to do guys thanks for all your help

I'm not certain about the other points, but I believe an IVA will stay on your credit file for 6 years from the starting date.0
