Could somebody help me please with the above, in this kind of weather when all the heating is off and only using gas to heat hot water through boiler which is approx 10-12 years old - heating water only for 2 hours a day max - How many units of gas would you expect to use per day?
I should add that thermostat is broken so no heating being controlled by turning off all radiators only... I have just given meter readings and usuage seems to have averaged 3.33 units per day. I think this is rather high based on 2 hours of heating water only.
Can anybody let me know their thoughts
Thanks

i do my readings every 2 weeks. I have not used the heating much at all for the last 8 - 10 weeks and hot water is heated through combi-boiler, and all cooking is electric. I have a family of three and average 3.8 units a day since april 18th.
so doesn't sound to bad to me0 -
Darren - Thanks any ideas what that equates to bill wise per week?
We are recently new first time buyers and we really didnt realise how expensive gas is and more rises on the way if the press are right0 -
3.33 units per day.
3-33 units of what?
kWHs, cubic metres or 100's of cubic feet.0 -
Unfortunately, if you think your gas is bad, look at how much electric you are using.......Just make sure that you are on the best tariff0

Metric or imperial units on your meter? No free lunch, and no free laptop0

3.33 as per units on the meter0

3.33 as per units on the meter
OK, but is your meter metric or imperial?
There are 2 types of meter, metric and imperial.
metric will have M3 on it imperial wont
Either 38 kWh, cost about £1.33 or 108 kWhs, cost about £3.75
I hope your meter is metric.

We ignore the Red Numbers so only use the first three numbers - Thanks0

If you ignore the red numbers you would not have .33 unless you averaged it out from a weekly or monthly total.
Still need to know if it is metric or imperial because I have my hot water on all the time and I only use about 1.7 cubic metres which is about 19 kWh a day0 -
checked last bill billed in KWH only give the first three numbers as a reading as instructed by utility company0
