I second the getting your mates round advice. If you all club together for a couple of bottles of wine, and maybe all make some food and bring it to yours (if you're all staying in at your house) then it should work out a nice cheap night for all of you. plus I bet you'll have a really good time as there will be no shouting over rubbish loud music, drunk idiots pestering and trying to get off with you and not taxi fares. Once you've done this you could make it a regular thing and go to each others house once a week/fortnight, and I'm sure your mates will notice the amount they've saved as well, so good for you all.

I dont have any close friends :(

Well, after all bills I will have around £80 for two months. I am spending this night doing nothing but surfing the internet. I need to go to bed in an hour. I can't bear the thought of spending two months doing this, I'm quite sick of being lonely, thats probably why I spend

Can you walk to your local library to lend books?

Can you go for a walk somewhere nice in the evening?

Can you to a family member's house for dinner or lunch and some company?

Can you tackle any jobs in your home that you have been putting off?

STOP thinking about the two months like it's some kind of prison sentence right now. And get some online friends. Got any hobbies that are cheap? Start doing those instead. Start going for walks in the evening, now it's light out so late.

Cut up your cards, you can always order new ones closer to the time. Yes, cut 'me up! Now.

Tell your friends the truth, if they're real friends, they'll understand.

I know how you feel... I have no self control when it comes to spending. I now leave all my cards at home and avoid going even remotely near a shop if I can help it!

I find that the temptation to buy more stuff than I went out for is too much... even if it's just a pint of milk I'll come back with a bag full of junk food. I now get milk delivered once a week by the milkman and give exact change to the boyf for any extra necessities.

The weekly spend challenge is quite good for motivation.

Instead of going out so much I have tidied up the house so I have everyone round all the time, I usually offer to cook and they sometimes bring a bottle... or I just do tea/coffee. We've also got a tempting collection of DVD's that everyone is happy to come round and choose from (at least until I ebay it!).

I don't know how similar we are, but my shopping habits have left me with LOADS of unused/unwanted/forgotten about stuff, I bet you'd be surprised! Stick it all on auction for 99p + postage (or more if it looks like it'll sell). Even if you only find 8 old tops that's an extra quid each week until August.

Definitely go to the library - free books to read and you can look at the walls for information on local things to do - you might find some free or very cheap things to look forward to.

If you like crafts go look at the adverts in craft shops for craft clubs - see if you can make some crafty friends to meet.

I'd say make sure you give yourself some money to be frivolous with. When I get the urge to spend money I don't have I make sure I spend about £1 - £2 (could easily be lower) on a little treat for myself - lip balm, bath bomb, face mask... Otherwise, I get the feeling I'm depriving myself and then I splurge!!

About not going out when all your friends are going out...you could find a hobby for the offending night. I used to go to yoga on Friday nights. The £6 class saved me so much on not spending money in the pub. Got some funny looks from colleagues etc but TBH I found it easier to explain "I'm going to yoga" than "I'm too skint to go to the pub".

I'd also go for selling whatever you can.

And I love the small things thread on here - you could join us to help keep track of the pennies... I'll go get the link to today's thread - there is a new one every day. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3262826

    Here is a crazy idea.
A bloke at my work has a dog and walks hi dof along the river at least twice a day.
So many others do that they have setup a dog walking group which now arrange social events, none of that dodgy stuff I promise.

Any how why don't you advertise to do some dog walking for a fee.
So many benefits, extra cash, meet people, exercise, takes time and so on.
