When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important:D

Thought i'd kick us off as no one else has! Happy BH everyone  ah it feels great doesn't it not to have to work??? So I intend to enjoy the day as much as I possibly can...

Today:
  • check banking & sort out isa transfer/work out budget for June
  • breakfast, lunch & dinner (LO chicken something) from stores
  • make soup for work next week
  • NSD?
  • go to the gym
  • watch a film/do jigsaw puzzle/read my book
  • more trips to the tip - we've made a start on decluttering the garage
  • send off reclaiming CC charges - found statements going back to 2005 with charges on, only 4 but still its worth 20 mins time!
  • send off letters requesting PPI information
  • laod of hockey cokey on the line & another load in WM
that'll do me have lots of fun everyone x
DF as at 30/12/16
Wombling 2025: £87.12
NSD March: YTD: 35
Grocery spend challenge March £253.38/£285 £20/£70 Eating out
GC annual £449.80/£4500
Eating out budget: £55/£420
Extra cash earned 2025: £195

    Morning All,

I am at work today :( and even worse, under a deadline which I fear I have no hope of achieving (the database I need to use will not cooperate with me!). So I think my list will be short as the morning is going to be consumed with work (how annoying when the work you're paid for interferes with your day :rotfl:)

    Here's my list:

    - check banking
    - check eBay
    - surveys in the evening
    - small shop for the week with OH after work

For everyone on holiday today, enjoy!!

    Jules x

    Morining All,

Determined – thanks for starting us off today
Jules – hope work goes ok

    I have news! – I have managed to buy myself a car! It’s a 1.1 Pug 106….so didn’t post over the weekend as I spent A LOT :o ….Spends are as follows:
    • Car £400 (new MOT and 3 months tax) :D
    • Petrol (£50 Filled up from ¼ full, using MOC)
    • Car stereo (£120)….there was no stereo and I can not travel 30 miles to work with no music!....literally, there was no stereo – just a gaping hole!
    • In car charger, leads and phone cradle (£5 from Amazon)
    • Oil and other bits £20
    • Used Quidco compare to get my insurance – first car and only paying £21 per month for the insurance (with £23 cashback)

But, in my defence – I just my Quidco registered card in Halfords, bought loads of bits on Amazon – looking for things which have free shipping…and hubby gave me £200 towards the car :D

Hi to all new members and regular folk

As I will be driving to work (instead of using the train and throwing £275 down the drain each month) I need to make sure that I know the route to use.

Yesterday and today I have/will do:
    • Meals from stores
    • Need to work out a budget for the car
    • Read paper online
    • Checked online banking – moved odd pennies to ISA
    • Do online comps
    • Need to watch bits on the sky box – we are running out of room (we tend to tape things in HD)
    • Will have a LSD – might buy lunch out for hubby and I
    • Fill in my food diary
    • Drink plenty of water
    • Take meds to sort out hormones
    • Have an early night – need to catch up on some sleep

Think that is about it – I am sure there will be things I have forgotten.

    Have a fabby one!

Morning all. also very cold grey and miserable here in northampton!

Have been very slack in postings lately both on here and on the debt v 100 day challenge... Reason.. Cause i have been very bad.
Had a couple of days away in clacton and spent on a card i had paid off during an earlier challenge.. and have felt terrible about it and so not made any payments as yet on the new challenge.

But as of today and this new pay packet i am going to get back on the debt busting wagon.

Hope you feel better soon amara, new car sounds fab candy and have a good day all x

    Hello all,

I had a great holiday, Bruges is lovely but EXPENSIVE. I am not massively keen on going to London, but Wicked was amazing and worth a visit and got to catch up with a friend I haven't seen it in ages!

Read my coursework and start preparing for next assignment
Watch some films for free online

Hope everyone has a good day!
