Mothercare charged twice this week..

Options
Greetings all,

just a quick heads up for anyone that's placed a Mothercare online order this week, they've been charging people twice (took me overdrawn..thanks for that) so it's worth checking your bank account to see if it's happened to you so you can ring them and enlighten them..refunds have been processed already (apparently) and will be back in accounts by early next week, such joy.

If you are getting bank chargers perhaps you should ask them to refund you for them assuming you have proof and or get chargers
  • Same thing happened to me. I made a large online order last week to take advantage of an offer and found out that they had debited my account twice while I was away in Bournemouth over the weekend. It put our bank account into arrears and half ruined our trip.

Was told 9am Monday morning (yesterday) that the money would be in back in my account by Monday evening, which did not happen.

Today (Tues) I've been told that it will be done as soon as possible, hopefully within 24 hours.

Really disappointed with Mothercare here - in the phone call they seemed to be pinning blame on Amazon (which I assume handle their payment system in this case).

I'll definitely be sending them any bank charges that will have been accrued because of their error, but it hardly seems that enough has been done here. I've just been left with a sour taste in my mouth and I can't see that I'll be using Mothercare again for a long while.

There was a fault with Sage Pay last week that resulted in thousands of transactions being debited twice across many different retailers. If you make Mothercare aware of it then they should reverse the second transaction and Sage Pay will refund any costs as a result of bank charges (with statement evidence)
