First Direct paying in question

Is there any other way of paying cash or cheques into a FD account other than going into branches of HSBC? I've only been able to go in there on Saturday mornings recently and I've now begun to *despise* the machines that they use in there.:mad::mad:

You can post cheques to them, they have free envelopes you can order through online banking. Obviously not a good idea to post Cash though.

Have an account with a different bank.

Pay the cheques / cash in to that account.

Then Faster Payments it across to First Direct.

I pay cheques into FD by post through the freepost envelopes, and I have the lowest co-op current account (http://www.co-operativebank.co.uk/servlet/Satellite/1193206368595,CFSweb/Page/Bank-CurrentAccounts?WT.svl=copy) for paying in cash at the post office.

To order envelopes login to online banking and click order items, then envelopes, then proceed and they will send you them.
Cash at the post office is easy - using your debit card, then just hand over the cash.

We have the same issue with FD... it is our only issue! I added my name to my OHs lloyds account we use as they have a local branch close by. PLUS we can also use the post office for access.

I never knew you could post cheques to them

If you live in Scotland, you can pay in directly at the Post Office. It's not available elsewhere. Think it's to do with the lack of HSBC branches here.
Whilst my posts do not constitute financial advice, I am always, without fail, 100% right! :D
