How much should I save before having a baby?

Sorry MrB but I think this should read as 'recommended' instead of 'needs to' otherwise I'm going to feel like a bad mother next month as our bedroom is too small for a moses basket even! And I'm not convinced about co-sleeping in the same bed.
Oh no - you've given me a sex change...
I'm afraid it's recommended because the baby needs to do it!

As a newborn my daughter grizzled unless she was next to me and wouldn't settle, in the end I moved the furniture round a bit and plonked the carrycot on top of a blanket box next to the bed as I wasn't convinced about cosleeping either.
It might be recommended to help reduce the risk of SIDS but I think that also the baby does need to know that he or she's not alone and mum is nearby. Saying that I know people who have plonked baby in their own room from word go and been totally fine.Snootchie Bootchies!0
