Was looking at a printer in Tesco but this works out slightly cheaper. Thanks withabix :T0

Was thinking about buying a wireless printer. This has everything I wanted in an all-in-one.
Looking into ink costs now

Just a word of warning with 'cheap' deals on printers like these, the ink cartridges for them are ridiculously expensive! I read a report somewhere (can't remember where now) and the cartridges you'll probably need for the year to keep the printer in ink will be far more costly than you actually paid for the printer.0

That would concern me if I was a heavy user. But as I only print a few documents in B&W, £8 for a cartridge isn't too much for me.
Cartridge costs might be of concern to others as full sets are not cheap.0 -

One of the problems seems to be the printer does not use the separate black ink cartridge as expected. Some user reviews claim that the colour inks go down when only printing text documents. One claims that Canon support say this is normal and it is not possible to prevent this.0 -

Canon? This is an HP machine.

" A similar observation has been made for the Epson. I am struggling to find a printer(MF) that can produce good text and photos with low ink usage. I will look at Kodak to see what they claim. "

I have an older HP All in One and don't have any problem in using the black ink alone. The PSC 750.0

Maybe before the time of Lexmark lock you in firmware and other practises. The printer I stopped using was amazing to watch in the way it used colour for best black.
If you do not already use these, worth considering
This is one option, seems to give the option of how many pages you print onto one page

Some not very encouraging reviews here
Though to be fair there are 41 others who think it is fantastic, so I shall test it extensively when it arrives for the problems mentioned in the reviews.0
