Just bought myself a Samsung SMX-F40 camcorder. It needs a memory card for recording. The user manual says it can use a SDHC 4 (class 4) up to 32GB.
Was wondering which card would you recommend for a camcorder.
A class 4, 6 or 10? I know the higher the number the faster the speed and higher the price.
Also what size should i go for? 16GB or 32GB?
Any manuf/website for a good price etc
Thanks in advance for any replies

If the manual says it can take class 4 then going for anything else probably isnt going to work.
With regard to size, its a trade of between how much your prepared to pay and how much your planning on shooting before transfering to your computer.
Google shopping is fantastic for finding the best prices0 -
Check the camera can use the faster cards, it could but best to check, otherwise get the fastest cards you can
Currys, PC World Dixons etc have sales on

7Dayshop often has reduced cards

High capacity cards are fine, though if they get damaged or lost, you will lose more data
Also, check how much film you can record per GB of card, this will change if the camera has different quality settings, go for cards which will cover the amount of recording you are likely to do in one go0 -
I would recommend getting several memory cards and changing them as necessary. I bought some 8GB cards from amazon recently for £7.99 each. Should mention they were sandisk brand, so good quality.0

I'd be very careful buying the faster cards and check very carefully, as I tried Class 10 in my Canon HG 20 and it didn't recognize it. The operating booklet states anything above Class 4 is fine, but when I spoke to Canon, they advised it will only read up to Class 6!!0
