    Thank you, as ever, Rosieben!!
I have had a good baking day today. I now have two freezer drawers full of lunch fillers - sandwiches, wraps, sausage rolls, muffins, biscuits and sausage and cheese bread. the only thing i didnt get around to doing were scones, but i may make some sunday with LO, as i see it is rain rain and more rain forecast - typical seeing as i had prepared for a carboot stall sunday morning. grrrr. it takes a lot to get me motivated for a 6am start, so lord knows when i'll get around to it again. sick of seeing bags of stuff everywhere!!

hope everyone has a lovely weekend.x

  • OMG I am seriously out of control I need to do something like meal plan and not just go to supermarket I have done my accounts and this month I decided to log every grocery spend on a separate spreadsheet so I can see exactly what I am spending well what a shock my month started on May 31st to go through to 1st July ok but today we are only on june 10th so how come out of a budget of £350 I have already managed to spend £274.40:eek: I think I need to sit down and list everything I have and see how I can use up stuff. How come I am so careful with getting best deals on everything else like car insurance, elec, cashback on website purchases etc but groceries seem to allude me. And I don't buy fancy stuff alot is already smartprice/value so I am not wasting it. I do shop around for best deals like muller yogs - only buy when they are at least 4 for £1 or better. But we do buy an awful lot of fruit It isn't unusual for me to buy £20 worth at aldis and 4 days later it is all gone - grapes, bananas, apples, oranges, etc and I do shop around for bargains as well so I am feeling dispondant about it as I really don't want to limit fruit!! Any suggestions
Thanks to MSE savings we got to go to Disneyworld Florida.

I find that if you buy a lot of fruit and serve it as one piece of fruit it does go quickly as you cannot reallY just eat half an apple or half a banana.
I dont know if it would help but tinned fruit is cheaper than fresh fruit. When my children were at home I would buy the cheaper fruit, such as apples, oranges, bananas, tinned pineapple, tinned peaches, tinned manadarins etc and made up a big bowl of fruit salad. using the fruit juices from the tins to keep it all fresh.

Then it was easy to put into bowls and encouraged the children to eat it as it did not need any preperation.
You could also make some chopped up carrot sticks, celery etc which is also healthy and not as expensive.
