Hi folks,
Need to buy a new fridge/freezer tomorrow. The old hotpoint lasted over 14 years but was veyr prome to a build of of ice in the freezer part a real nuisance.
I see on currys site that a lot of fridge/freezers have a "frost free" feature. Should I really go for this or will modern fridge/freezers without this "frost free" be prome to build up of ice like my old hotpoint.
Thanks for all advice as I really need to get a new fridge/freezer tomorrow monday.

Hiya, after years of ice build up, defrosting and on the advice of others, I bought a LEC frost free fridge freezer in Aug10 and a BEKO frost free tall freezer in Jan11. There's no build up at all. I'll never go back to "frost" style again.

Currys have a sister company, Dixons, if you know the model number have a look at Dixons site, they are often far cheaper than Currys,
If you want it to be easier, go for the frost free every time.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I bought a frost free fridge freezer a couple of months ago and so far much prefer it to my previous "frost" one , bought it from the Dixons site with no problems and cashback tooAnd in the middle of the flood I felt my worth

May be too late as OP may have bought it, but, like others, I would never go back to a frosty one having experienced the frost free oneEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

I've had a frost-free freezer for about 15 years. It is wonderful, never had to defrost it. I do tend to turn it off when I actually have the door open though, because I hate having the cold air coming straight onto my face when I am trying to find stuff! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
