I did debate weather to give out this location as I havn't booked my wedding venue yet... but I will share and keep my fingers crossed that no one else books it when I would like it! Atlantic College is AMAZING. Its like a Harry potter Castle, garden and beach all in one venue. Google Atlantic College Wedding and definately worth a visit to check it out! #spilledthebeans
I had a look at it over the weekend but all weekend dates are booked in 2014 apart from two Sundays in August and I think it probably costs an arm and a leg to hire. Certainly the Arts Centre is £3k + VAT, which is a lot more than we are hoping to spend! It is beautiful though and I am sure you will have a lovely day there. We want a fairly low key, intimate affair (albeit with 75 guests - but 50 of those are close family!) and it's just so hard to find somewhere in Cardiff the right size.

Dyffryn springs, Pencoed house (weekday wedding is reasonable, weekend not so!), The Wharf in Cardiff bay has a large function room upstairs, The Gate in Roath, there are loads of alternative venues, not just the same hotels everyone been to loads of weddings in.

    Hope some of those help!

Some friends of mine got married a couple of years ago and their reception was in the Gate in Roath, lovely old theatre which is now arts space, worked really well and apparently was not expensive!

how about contacting any of the castles in the area?
Weny yo one many years ago for a medevial banquet type thing so they may extend to the hog roast that you want

If you try for the smaller castles or ones that arn't so commercialised then they may offer cheaper alternatives

the names of some of the castles are escaping me at the moment...but possibly chepstow or caldicott?...to name a couple
