Santander online banking

Okay so I am looking at my online Banking transaction search etc and it is saying that I have £200 but when I went out today I checked my bank statement and took out £140,as my slip said I had £340 but I'm worried that for whatever reason, that the online banking is correct and when I took out the money, the balance on the advice slip was lagging. So now I am worried that I am going to end up with under £100 to last 3 weeks, which would be entirely my fault, but I always thought the balance you can request at the machine is correct.
To be sure I rang up the automated system and it said the most up to date balance on my account was £200.

Am I worrying about nothing? I hate banks sometimes

You had £340 then took out £140 so now you have £200 ? Don't understand your query ! Seems ok to me.

But on my online banking, it is showing £200, BEFORE me taking out the 140.

Are you looking at your available balance? If your available balance is 200 then that's probably correct, it will have taken off the 140 you withdrew.

If however your available balance is 60 then you had less than you thought to start with.

I am being given the available balance as £200 so I'm hoping that that has included the £140 I took out in Cashback. In the recent transactions on my online banking, it hasn't shown the money being taken out but it is showing the balance at £200. I'm just curious as to whether, if this is the balance BEFORE the £140 comes out, what good is having ATM slips that show you a useless figure. I dont know If I'm explaining myself right.

On both the online banking, and your balance slip, it will give two figures; Balance, and Available... What are these different figures saying?

Sorry, posters while I was reading...
It was cashback at a shop counter, not an ATM?

How do you manage to get £140 cashback in a shop ? If it was cashback it will show on your available balance but not on a statement until it debits. Are you a bit confused ?

Naf - it was cash back yes (well 100 was, but the extra 40 which I took out first is shwoing on my account). My balance is £216, which available balance £200. Earlier this morning online, the balance was £341 and it was £300 this afternoon (according to my ATM Slip when I took out the £40).

I am not confused, I just have never used online banking and I have had a few issues with my bank account and I am trying to deduce whether I have £200 to keep me for 3 weeks, or I will now have £160 come out of my account and end up with £50.

Your available balance immediately updates with any transactions on your card. So whatever it says now is what you will have available after the transaction finishes processing from your account.
