Parking on double yellow lines with a blue badge holding passenger on a private road

Parked on a dyl with a blue badge holding passenger on a road that runs past the main entrance to a hospital. Car park was entirely full including disabled bays. Not blocking entrances or impeding people going past. Got a ticket from a private coy. Friend now worried he will lose his badge, so wants me to pay. Receptionist in main entrance said road is private, but there are no signs to this affect. Any advice please.

Just ignore. Yellow lines and the blue-badge scheme have no legal standing on private roads.
Could you tell us the name of the parking company please? What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
That would be unusual for a main road to be private, after first ignoring the scammers utterly, contact the local council to see if this is actually a public highway.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -

hmm the ULTIMATE in PPC double standards.
If the double yellow line is valid then it is a public road so they can't ticket BUT just suppose the PPC are acting on behalf of a council ..well they still can't ticket because of a valid blue badge !!
If it is a private road then both the double yellow line and the blue badge are an irrelevance ..and what you have is an unenforceable invoice.
Heads you win ,tails they lose ..IGNORE IT ! (Unless it really is on behalf of a council then you need to appeal on the grounds of having a valid blue badge displayed)0 -

Total Parking Solutions, in Kettering.
Well in that case ignore completely, they have no powers, they cannot effect the fact that your friend are holding a blue badge.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?

Parking at KGH is pretty horrible at times so I sympathise with you.
I think you can ignore the ticket .
As far as I see it, the two roads leading into the hospital grounds directly from the A4300 Rothwell Road and the road passing the ambulance station from Haweswater Road are within the grounds of the KGH so chances are that they are private roads. Also on many occasions seen staff outside on the Rothwell Road smoking, indicating that the KGH area extends out to the A4300.
Also seem to recall Kettering Borough only has one traffic warden so chances of being officially ticketed are pretty slim.0 -
Thanks to all who responded - especially for the videos. So sorry to mislead though - the hospital is actually St Michaels in Bristol. The private parking Coy is the one in Kettering. Thanks all.0
