According to http://whocallsme.com/ it's a company claiming to hand over refunds for credit card and loan charges.

Having talked to one of their reps on two consecutive days I can confirm that whether or not it is a scam, he was not blessed with much in the grey cell department.

Stop talking to him. Responding to these kind of speculative calls just sticks you on a 'this person is responsive, spam and scam them more' list. Ask them to stop calling, or just hang up.

He would not stop and hurled abuse down the 'phone. I kept him on as I was bored and it wasted HIS time and the chance from him to "help" some other sucker.

Seems from the site, referred to above, that my experience is not atypical.

When I get these unwanted calls, I ask the person on the other end to hold on. I go to my extension phone in another room and turn a portable radio on I have tuned to Radio Wales (welsh speaking) and place that by the receiver. I come back in half an hour and they have usually gone.
