Considering the cost of 'good' sealant treatments for Indian Sandstone, and the confusing contradictions on various websites, is there a definitive yes definitely/no, don't need it, answer out there?

If there is any doubt at all seal it. Where are you using it? If it is for a kitchen floor definitely seal it. Sandstone is normally porous to some degree, if not as bad as limestone/travertine/marble. I know good stone sealants are not cheap but trying to remove stains from sandstone floors is not fun or easy. If it is for exterior use then it is more of a moot point. If you wish it to weather then dont bother, or just use a cheaper brick sealer like Thompsons Aqua seal or similar to lessen the potential of frost damage.0

If you like the wet look then seal it, if not then it doesn't need it.0
