Argos faulty lights and no receipt

As I've said on another Argos returns related thread - I've always found them to be extremely generous/forgiving with returns. I would simply take it back and tell them the problem, without a receipt they will only give you a refund in the form of store credit, or an exchange though.
They are not obliged to give you a refund but I've taken things back to Argos that are nearly a year old with no box or receipt and they have refunded for store credit!"We can all fly as high as the dreams we dare to live...........unless we are a chicken" ~ Anon.0 -

Most likely for the lowest selling price. If the item is not stocked anymore or is discontinued then this won't be possible, or if it is high value then the store may well refuse.
The best advice I can offer OP is if your parents paid with credit/debit/store card then to go into the specific store the items were bought from with a time period as to when they were bought and Customer Services can usually ring through and trace a transaction with a card number, but it would have to the the exact card used. If the store is then able to find your transaction they should be able to retrieve it.
If you paid with cash/vouchers/non card tender you will be relying on the discretion of the duty manager. Hope this helps![DISCLAIMER: Any posts made by myself are my opinions and do not represent my employer]

Argos wouldn't do that, plus you can just ask for a refund anyway. Not that I'd do that of course.0
