Hi Buddiebabe. Well done working all those hours - it will be worth it when you get the pay.
Sorry if I am butting in here but I was surprised by something in your post above. Why are you repaying a debt to your OH? He is your husband now, so surely that makes you jointly responsible for your household bills, so he should write that debt off.
As for the money from his parents - you should spend that on whatever makes you happiest. If it was me, i would pay some of it off one of the credit cards. However I think Hovel Lady gives very sensible advice tooTotal debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
:wave:Hi Hovel Lady and welcome
Thanks for the advice on the birthday money I wanted to spend it on something for me but there is nothing that i need at the moment or want right now so am going to keep the money in the bank until i find something!
Seaxwyn the debt to my OH is for money i borrowed back before we got married and as much as we are married now and whats his is mine and so on we still have our own accounts and our own debts and money. It will stay that way until my debts are cleared. I earn more money than him by working 2 jobs so its not fair of me to ask him for more when he already gives me £140 a week out of his £200 wages. He also buys takeaways and things for me when we need them.
I feel like i would be taking advantage asking for the debt to be written off... its only £90 but i'd feel better in myself if i gave it back.
Off to bed now back at both jobs tomorrowglutton for punishment me
although i have really enjoyed working practically full time in the shop it makes a change from sitting at a desk all day.... in saying that i think my feet will be glad of the change 2m
nite

Another idea (and again, forgive me if it's not helpful), what about if he gives you £135 a week instead of £140 until the debt is paid off? Could you manage?Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

A good idea about the birthday money
I understand what you mean about wanting to pay the debt to your OH (DH?) back.
Seaxwyn's idea sounds like a good one if you can manage it?
Hope work goes OK.0 -
Hey
Well i've had to take a holiday from my main job today as im so tired... all these extra hours are catching up with me. I can't really complain as i know i need the money but am so tired. I've seen my hours for the next 2 weeks and im working 27 hours on top of my full time job and i have the new jewellery job to start today 2.
I know the extra hours aren't going to be consistent as they are only happening just now as people are off sick and on holiday for next couple of weeks so im just going to get on with it. I have a day off my main job next friday which is also my night off from the shop.
My house is in a mess so im sitting watching hoarders in the hope it will inspire me to get up off my backside and clean and tidy something away. My goal for today is to get my livingroom back in order but im also going to spend some time relaxing.
I need to sort out my money today I have some direct debits to cancel and phone calls to make so need to do that too.
I have spent some of my birthday money on some clothes and shoes for work. Not what i wanted but stuff i needed so i can get rid of the stuff im wearing thats falling to pieces and it felt good to be able to buy things that i needed.
Seaxwyn im liking your idea of my hubby giving me £135 a week instead of £140 but am not sure i could manage every week so im going to keep it as it is at the moment but will put away the £5 if i have it left at the end of the week. I think i should manage it this month but next month on basic hours it could be a struggle will see how this goes.
Will try and update again when i've actually done something

Off to see what i can do next xDEBT OUTSTANDING 23.04.17 £16802.970 -

Hey
Well i've had a pretty productive day its been nice to be off all day... well most of it. Ended up going into the shop to do my new job supposed to be there for an hour but 2 and a half hours later i was still there! I have managed to get everything done i needed to so its all tidied and stocked up which means that i will be able to spend less time fixing it over the next few weeks.
I've put away £5 for hubby this week and will need to see what my wages are for the shop 2moro to see how much extra that i have.
Am off to bed now back 2 work in the morning

Well its not the best reduction but its still heading in the right direction so am pleased with that. Been working practically every day and every night which has been good and bad money wise. I have been very careless with money and not keeping an eye on what im spending and not being able to have time to spend sorting out my bills which has meant that I didn't pay everything i needed to last month so I have just paid them today. Im hoping to have a better reduction this month.
My hours at work have been no less than 27 a week in my 2nd job for the last 3 weeks which has made me very tired and not really able to do much at all.
I took today off work and am also off 2m but am still working 2moro night so i managed to get my finances sorted out today and am going to tackle some of the house 2moro.
Im doing the race for life on Sunday and i've not done much training for it. I walked the distance last weekend and it took just over an hour so want to try and run for some of it and do it in less than an hour if possible.
Am going to go watch some more hoarders programmes they make me want to tidy and i intend to do some 2m
Will try and post a bit more regularly
