opticians can i have a refund !

hi my daughter tried a pair of glassess of the shelf at the opticians after her eye test as she is long sighted, she paid cash 216 pounds when she collected them on friday and tried them on she said she didnt feel happy with them as they didnt seem the same as when she tried them on of the shelf ? since friday collecting them she has been very concious of them and doesnt feel comfortable with them, my question is would she be entitled to ask for a refund ( i,e do opticians have a 4 day money back guarantee etc , just like most other shops when you buy things ( obviously with the bank holiday we cant go to the shop will it opens again on tuesday ,

I never knew that most shops did this. 4 days ??
Anyway, When she picked them up @ the opticians why did she not try them on there and then and get them to alter them to fit her properly?one of the famous 5

It may depend on the optician. Our local Specsavers had a poster up last week about a getting your money back if you don't like your glasses but it's gone now.
They are very helpful though, I bought 2 pairs of glasses recently and they were both very comfortable when I chose them but they are quite uncomfortable now but Specsavers have bent over backwards to help me, they adjust them for me and have even changed the nose pieces to a more comfortable set. We are nearly there after quite a few adjustments but they never roll their eyes when I walk in with a shrug and a smile.0 -

Is it an independant opticians or part of a chain? If they have a website its possible details of any returns information may be on there.0

She has absolutely no rights to an exchange or a refund just because she doesn't like the style, as it's a made to measure product.
If the actual glasses themselves were faulty, or the lenses, then she can ask them to replace or alter them. i.e. they can adjust the nose bridge and arms to make them more comfortable.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')

no, she picked them in the first place so was obviously happy at the time with the style. However, if there was an issue with a prescription error then its a different issue. You would then be entitled to ask for a refund as I did recently when D&A had to send my glasses back twice due to manufacturing defects and then told me they still weren't right I had had enough.0

Its probably just a matter of a tiny adjustment, get her to go back and ask them to have another look as they dont feel comfy.
I had to go back 3 times with my last pair and then they were absolutely perfect.
If she just doesnt like them anymore then she has no actual rights whatsoever.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

i got my new glasses today but the frame feels too big and soo uncomfortable once the lenses are in (got high prescription but paid extra for the thinner and supposed to be lighter lenses ..)
would i be able to change glasses for a more comfortable / suitable frame ?
got them from specsavers and already told assistant twice whilst i was left alone to choose frames ...that i need help as couldn't see without the lenses in got poor eyesight and high prescription .. staff just told me to use magnifying mirror0 -

I had an unbeilvable amount of help from one of the senior assistants at specsavers, she spent time looking at my face, finding the right size of frame for me and in a frame i had picked. I too have a high prescription but they had one of those photo machines where i could try the glasses on, picture taken, look at it with my old glasses on, brilliant, cant praise them highly enough this time.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
