Clarion radio code

Can anyone help please. i've just put a 2nd hand clarion stereo into my car, other 1 was knackered. its all plugged in, when i turn the stereo on it appears to be on a station, but not quite tuned in as its making a fuzzy sound, along with that im getting an intermitant beeping. I guessed i needed a code, so went onto e bay where a guy was charging £2.99 to give you the code. gave him the details of the stereo, he gave me 3 codes to try, but no luck. i can t seem to get him to understand that when io turn the stereo on to imput the code, its already set on a untuned station, so when i press any of the buttons to enter the code, the stereo just changes channel with each number i press. Please help. a very confused

does the cd section or cassette work fine?
maybe your mosfet is broke

hi, whats a mosfet ? yes the cd player works fine, that the 1st thing i checked after i installed it, as this was the reason for replacing my old stereo, the cd wouldn't eject .

its a junk radio then a has been and probably why it was sold

you could try giving it a whack but this might destroy the cd head pickup

Does anyone else have any ideas or suggestions please, i dont really think that the stereo is not working .
