Changing from pendant to spotlight

Hi everyone

Replacing a pendant light fitting with a spotlight, but a little confused as to where the wiring goes. Looking at the picture of the wires may look a bit confusing because of shadowing. Looking at the picture from left to right the first 2 cables have a red and black wire and both share an earth wire. The other cable on the right has a red wire, black wire with red sheath and an earth wire.

The 2nd picture of the spotlight shows 4 terminal blocks, one of them being for loop termination. Any help appreciated.

    From the way it looks
    • blacks to N
    • reds to spare terminal
    • green + yellows to Earth
    • black with red sleeve to L
This assumes that the cable with the red sleeve on black is the switch cable and that the lighting main feeds in and out. It could be that one of the assumed lighting main cables is in fact a feed to another light on the same switch

You should have taken the photo before disconnecting it, this would have resolved the uncertainties in the answer.

Reconnected the old fitting, the 3 terminals for N houses the 2 black cables and the blue wire from the pendant, the 3 terminals for Loop houses the 3 red wires, and the last 2 terminals for L house the black wire with red sheath and the brown wire from the pendant.

Earths obvious. Blacks to N. Black sheathed red currently obscured and connected to brown of pendant to L. Reds in loop to unmarked.

Use a connector block to put the cable in the same as the ceiling rose then run some flex from that to the light fitting. Make sure all is insulated and safe.
