From paper to photocard license

I do know a friend 's firm wouldn't allow them to drive the company car until he was in possession of the the renewed license.
That'll be because they get confused with valid/invalid licence & expired photocard, as do some insurance co's, police occifers etc etcAlways try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -
Unless he really needs to change to a picture driving licenses I wouldn't.
Reason being it has to be replaced at a cost every ten years. If you forget to renew you will not be able to drive.
It worked out convenient for me, as I kept getting asked for a photo ID in banks etc, and I didn't have a current passport. Caused no end of problems. Had trouble getting my money out of Barclays before I got it, but they grudgingly, finally accepted a bus pass.
It's the new form of identity card.
(Passports no good to me. I can't travel any more.)0
