Removing rust from hanging basket chains?
Hi, I have some hanging baskets I want to reuse but the chains are really rusty. The baskets are in good condition and I could replace the chain but I was hoping I could soak them in something to spruce them up. I would be grateful of any suggestions, thanks
Sew it, knit it, glue it, reuse it , don't buy it

To be honest i would just bin them. You dont want your nice hanging baskets to come crashing down if the chain snaps. Hanging baskets get heavy.0

Krust will kill rust but probably best if you can to get new chain or new basket

my local 99p store had baskets with chains for yes, 99p! you could just use the chains.0

I'd just buy some new ones, and this time dip them in oil - ordinary vegetable oil will do - once before you put the basket up for the summer and once again when taking it down for the winter and putting it into storage.0

Thanks for the suggestions, I need 5 so the 99p sounds good, it was the £4.99 each that had put me off, £25  , £4.95
. I will try the oil, sounds like a good idea, thanks Sew it, knit it, glue it, reuse it , don't buy it0 -
Take them off and use nice gardening string like I've done.......... Looks brilliant, and 'double up' to ensure they hold0
