Obscuring the windows during decorating

What's the simplest and easiest way to obscure the house windows whilst decorating takes place? The problem is that I can have anything stuck into the walls to secure poles or cords as the walls are being skimmed and then painted. Yet, I need some privacy. I've thought about using Windolene but that's going to make the house look uninhabited and attract attention from undesirable people.

I have lever felt the need to obscure our windows? Can you not cover them in newspaper or use the smeared windowlene effect? I am not sure how it would attract undesirables if there is obvious 'decorating' activity?

Or sellotape some voile to the window frame?

But thousands of homes choose to have nothing at the windows normally, so whats wrong with having bare windows?

Try sellotaping cardboard to the windows. I'm having my place decorated and that's what we did - it also blocks out a lot more light than curtains.

The white stuff they paint on greenhouses?

    or an opaque stick-on film.

I thought that obscuring windows while decorating went out with the ark, what a quaint idea. I couldn't give a toss who sees me while decorating.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

Whilst decorating it is preferable to have as much natural light into the room as possible so yes coving the windows does seem not a good idea.
