Have to give credit to Amazon.
Ordered two books with them last week, they came on Friday (with the free delivery), but the delivery company left the box on top of our wheelie bin in our alley-way, didn't leave a note, and it wasn't until a day or two later that we luckily went out there and saw the box. We'd had a bit of rain, and the books were very slightly damp, but they could have been soaked through.
Got through to Amazon this afternoon, and I was given a 20% refund (I think they would have taken the order back and re-sent) and a humble apology, even though it wasn't their fault, promised to let the delivery company know our complaints. I'm sure other companies wouldn't have accepted the story ("our courier company don't do that sort of thing, you must be mistaken, maybe someone moved it on top of the bin" etc), but the Amazonian lady was wonderful. :T :T :T
