Post Office Credit Card Abroad

I have just applied for a Post Office Credit Card for my hols to Greece in July. There are no foreign transaction charges if I pay for items via card, however there is a charge if you withdraw cash which I won't be doing. It is a mastercard just hope it is recognised in Rhodes? Anyone had any experience with this card?

Used in Asia, Europe and the US without a hitch. Bear in mind that it's always risky to rely on a single card working all the time.

No idea about Rhodes. I would have thought the Greeks would be crying out for a bit of decent hard currency!

Halifax Clarity is the best credit card for ATM cash withdrawls, just pay into the a/c what you have withdrawn as soon as you are back in uk without waiting for the statement, to minimise the interest charges on the cash withdrawl.

Well yes, it would be the best credit card, but I hardly think it would be wise to apply for one just to save a couple of pounds on a couple of cash withdrawals.

If they wanted to do that, it would make far more sense to get a Metrobank or Norwich and peterborough debit card and pay no charges whatsoever.

Do you need to go to London for a Metrobank card?
N&P- you may not want to take your current a/c to them.

I use Halifax Rewards current a/c for my salary to be paid in & then do an instant transfer to another bank where my proper current a/c is. Halifax Rewards a/c give you £5 every month as along as there is a £1000 going into the a/c every month.

Also, if I spend £300 in the monthly billing period using Halifax Clarity credit card or more, I get another £5 reward.

Yes you do. You don't need to take your current account to them. There is no reason why you can't have both. They just accepted me without saying I had to switch and make it my main one.
