Buying a car with high mileage!

I have a 2000 X Passat TDi PD with 185K, full VAG history from new, 2 owners (company and then the driver, he bought it from the company).
It's not the mileage, it's how its been looked after. Mine has only been used to go up and down motorways all it's life. There is no wear or tear at all internally, it's like new! There are 1-2 stone chips on the bonnet that's all.'Just because its on the internet don't believe it 100%'. Abraham Lincoln.

Yeah. I think im gonna go ahead and buy it. Rang em up and the guide price was 9k. a little over what i was wanting to pay but we shall see what happens at the auction tomorrow!0

let us know how you go.
I have a 173K A4 1.9TDi - its showing its age, but passed MOT no faults and I have it serviced once a year (16Kper year)
Never going back to new - or even nearly newAll CC & Other Debts - Paid Off

Repeat after me, 125K isn't high mileage on a modern car!0

haha. cheers for making me feel better about buying such a high mileage car (the highest mileage car ive ever bought was 94k) hence why i was worrying, but with audis build quality and regular servicing i think i should be good - all depends on price really. But that was a VW Passat 06' - had to get rid of it because the flywheel went and the immobilizer died. thought i might as well get a nice car this time around but the only way i can do that is a high mileage one.0

VW own audi and both use many of the same parts, Nonetheless, It sounds a good car and the mileage really isnt that bad at all for one of those, It has no doubt been mostly motorway and if serviced properly will last forever like someone else stated.
Good luck with it but try and see as much of it as possible before buying it's a lot of money to waste!!I dont have to show riches, To pull up, Pull of with some bad b*tches, It's about my persona, Aint nothing like a man that can do what he wanna0 -
Beware of Ghost Bidding, the practice is RIFE,
The auctioneer bids against you with a fictitious bidder and you get carried away, take 2 people and spread out, get your accomplice to look where the auctioneer is glancing and move in to that area.
Another trick is "Trogging" you win the car in the highest bid, at the auction office say it is not enough but if you offer some more say £500 more we will "try them" in fact they are trogging you, "trying it on whilst flogging" you give them the extra, they give the seller the bid price and keep the difference, again widespread, VERY.
If you win and they try Trogging just say, you will honour the Bid and Leave the auction and let them contact you if they accept the bid, hanging around makes you a trogging target, they can see you want the car.
Often they can not get an answer straight away and you have to wait, but usually if you dont fall for it, they let it go at bid price.
And last, study the buyers charges, they can be a eye watering lump on top of what you pay, on 9k £450 can be the buyers charges at some Auctions, some are even more.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Yeah. I have heard of the ghost bidding and will keep it in mind whilst bidding. I accounted for the fees already so thats not too much of a problem. However the trogging should also be a problem because they have representatives from VWFS (the fleet service) who will decide whether the car will be sold or not so no room for the auctioneer to scam extra cash out of me. And most likely it will be sold. However i'll keep those points in mind. cheers.0
