:T;)i have now got lots of new cooking ideas and will use all of them our friends visit us regularly once a month and we take it in turns..to do the journey.when we first had a redundancy we felt like we had to go out for a meal even though to be honest we could nt afford to eat out we had always done this but now they have had a reduction in income aswell and are in the same boat as us when i first bought up of each cooking one another a meal they actually looked relieved so i think this is the way forward .with cooking all sorts of dishes over the year and i like the idea of bringing in games and thinking of ways of making it extra fun reading this probably going to have a better time than if we d of gone out.

One my favourites for guests if I am not trying to be posh is to line a pie dish with pastry, I usually do this in a rectangular one. Then put a layer of sausagemeat in. If you can't get sausagemeat, just peel sausages and use them. On top a layer of onions, then peppers, then mushrooms, then tomatoes. mix grated cheese & 1 or 2 eggs together and pour all over so it's covered. Sprinkle with more cheese, some herbs and bake at gas 5 until it looks very brown on top. Serve with salad. I could bring this in for 6 at under a £5er
